Today is bring your dog to work day!   Are you lucky enough to have a job where your furry buddy can join you?

Bella is easily the goofiest dog I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  :) 

Tinted Titan...

Our grass had gotten REALLY long before I finally broke down and mowed...

OK.   I actually mowed it when Titan couldn't maneuver around it without actually jumping over the grass like a little deer in a field.

Well...it turns out that Titan LOVES to chase the lawn mower and bark...the WHOLE time.

As a result...his feet, tummy and tail were all tinted green for a couple of days.   :)

Happy Birthday Shyan!

15 years ago today, the best cat in the world was born...really, I am not kidding.  
I got Shyan when he was about 4 months old, from a local farm.   I had just gotten a trailer, I had Yukon already, but really wanted a cat.   

As luck would have it, a local farm had a 'Free kitten' sign.   There were SO many kittens...I asked for one that was friendly with dogs and a girl pointed out Shyan.   He turned out to be a fantastic addition...him and Yukon were inseparable, right up until Yukon died 3 years ago.

Shyan has always been a very acceptable cat...he has been there through me dating and then marrying my husband, having babies, new dogs, new cats...taking it all in stride.

I love this cat!   Happy Birthday buddy! 

Look Who Got New Toys!

I was cleaning out the garage the other day (a mild feat, let me tell you) and I came across some toys that I had bought (and forgotten about) a long time ago...the dogs were more than happy to take the off of my hands.

Obsess Much?

I have noticed an odd fact...dogs that I raise from puppies (Yukon and Bella) are not obsessed with anything, they like their toys just fine, but don't 'need' them.

Dogs that I adopt full grown (Alice and Titan) are COMPLETELY obsessed with balls.  Alice loves soccer balls, basketballs, etc.   Titan has a thing for tennis balls and this little red ball in particular.

Here he is barking, barking, barking at me to kick it again....he LOVES that stupid ball.

Affection???

I am wondering if tortoises feel affection toward one another.    

Emmet (top) and Emma (bottom) spend a lot of time 'hanging out' together.  Emma used to hide all day, but now that Emmet is with her, she is out and about most of the time.

They are FINALLY playing!!!

I have been nervous about letting the dogs play and had been rotating them...it was all me, not them.   I wasn't afraid that Bella would hurt Titan on purpose, but was concerned that she would step on him or bite him by accident.

Anyways, today, I decided to take the plunge.   It started with a walk (since it was right around 48 degrees) to get my daughter after school.   Both of the dogs did great, they were focused on the walk and didn't bother each other at all.

When we got back, I took a chance and brought them both in the house, where they proceed to play and play and play.

Watch out...here I come.

OK...enough playing, I'm tired now.

Titans New Duds

My Mom decided that Titan needed a jacket for outside...so she found this one on sale and picked it up for him.   :)

He seems to like it...at least he doesn't mind it.  

Since then, she has bought him a pull-over sweater too.  :)

Enjoying the New Year

Its mid January and here in Michigan the weather has been wonderfully mild.   Today it was sunny and 50 degrees, so Rabbit got some "outside time".

Titans New Obsession

Titan managed to find this the other day...I say managed because this is a toy that I haven't seen in, oh, probably 10 years.   It originally belonged to Yukon, who would be 15 years old this year...and has been ignored by every dog since.  

It was kind of nasty when Titan pulled it out from the furthest recesses of the basement...but a little hot water and an old toothbrush took care of that.  

He absolutely loves this thing...carries it with him everywhere, shakes it until you would think that he would fall down dizzy and then will set it down, lay down in front of it and just stare at it.
